Dr. Abhiraj Suryawanshi is a Medical Professional based in Pune, a culturally & historically important hub of India. He is willing to contribute in well being of society & mankind. Being inspired by the grand thought like " वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम " (the world is a family) (Mahopanishad VI.71-73), he wishes to make this world a one family and wants to make this world a better place for humanity.


He has done graduation in M.B.B.S. at M.G.M.'s Medical college & Hospital, Aurangabad, During college days he was a vice president of " Manavya " a voluntary social health organisation and has done a lot of health awareness activities, blood donation camps, fund raising for Bihar flood victims( in 2008 ) etc. He was Cultural Secretary in students' council for 2006-07, where he dedicated himself to students’ welfare.

He contributes to Wikipedia by editing articles mostly related to Indian History, culture and Society in Marathi, Hindi and English Wikipedia as well as by inspiring others to do so. His aim is to promote Indian languages as well as Indian culture & history in particular through Wikimedia activities. He intends to focus on GLAM Project & Outreach Drive in North East India along with other projects. He wishes to spread the Wikimedia Movement throughout India.

He was elected to the Wikimedia India Executive Committee in November 2014 , and currently serves as President.
