Wiki Academy was hosted at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad on 17th August 2019. This Academy was part of the workshop hosted in the University, titled, Current Research Avenues in Computer Science and Engineering.


Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU), formerly Marathwada University, is located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Republic of India. Since its inception, the university has around 404 colleges affiliated to it, which come under four districts (Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed and Osmanabad) of Maharashtra State. The student population exceeds 4,44,336.

Rahul Deshmukh, President, Wikimedia India was invited to deliver a talk as a part of the three day workshop on “Current Research Avenues in Computer Science Research”.The talk was titled, 'Fostering Wikipedia using technology, opportunities & challenges'. An overview for Wikimedia Projects along with special emphasis to technology, Indian languages, Media Wiki amongst other topics were covered in the 3 hour long session.
