Amin Ud Din Shroff (born February 6, 1991) is an Indian Internet Entrepreneur who is best known working as Software Developer(Analytics) in Product Management at Wikimedia Foundation. His web hosting company, Argus Inc's based out of Oslo, operated from Hyderabad wealth is estimated to be INR 6.8 million (2012). He has worked with various organizations before Argus Inc, a Web Hosting, Graphic Design and Web Development company. Amin owns about 20 percent of the company's stake. Currently, Amin is keen working as Software Developer (Analytics) in Product Management at Wikimedia Foundation Inc.

Amin attended the St.Joseph's English School from 1994 to 2007, and graduated from Class 12 in 2009. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science Engineering from the Sri Krishnadevaraya University with honors and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University in Cryptography and Technology Entrepreneurship and Bachelor of Science from Carnegie Mellon University at Open Learning Initiative in Logics and Proofs. While at the University, Amin has worked with Ibm, Intel Corp, StumbleUpon, Wix, Webs.

After enrolling for a B.S program in computer science at Stanford University, Amin was in search of a dissertation theme and considered exploring the mathematical properties of the World Wide Web, understanding its link structure as a huge platform that can be utilized for further more innovative developments. He took up the lead of making free websites to lot of organizations, corporates, individuals. Eventually, it made him turn into Graphic Designer, Web Developer and Web Programmer learning all Web Technologies of Adobe, PHP, LAMP, MySQL, Oracle.


In 2010, Amin founded Argus, Inc. He ran Argus Inc. as Web Programmer, Creative Head until 2011 and then took over the corporation as Creative Head (Digital & Online Media). Amin earns an annual compensation from Wikimedia Foundation Inc. On February 6, 2012, Amin officially became the chief executive in Online Media (Digital & Social) at Argus Inc.

Personal life

Amin currently stays in Kurnool along with his mother in his ancestral family mansion. He likes photography and has also worked with National Geographic Magazine as Travel Lensman and his photographs get published in magazine editorials. They can also be seen on [Facebook Page- Amin Ud Din Shroff]

Other interests

Amin is an active participant contributing for National Geographic Magazine. He also works to lead social, digital campaigns to empower awareness on Global Warming. He has travelled to Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, East India and was in research for knowing the people better, their rights, conflicts with local governments. He is fond of traveling, rock climbing, trekking, mountaineering. He also funds for NGO funded by Toshiba and Intel joint venture initiative.

Awards and recognition

Etemaad Daily newspaper has praised Argus as among the Top 100 Web development Corporation (2012) and awarded Argus, the Technical Excellence Award, for Innovation in Web Development in 2012. In 2012, Argus earned a Web Award, a People's Voice Award for technical achievement. He is also accredited as Communications Analyst at Wikipedia and page is created for his performance and contributions. Also been awarded as Young Entrepreneur Award.
